Bet on Premiership teams with Ladbrokes now that the World Cup has sadly come to an end, although there is no shortage of options for fans who prefer to look forward rather than back.

Those interested in taking the long-term view could fancy checking out Euro 2008 betting odds, which place England and Holland as joint favourites at 6/1.

They are followed by the hosts and the finalists of the 2006 World Cup, Germany, Italy and France, all of whom have been valued at 7/1.

Iberian representatives Spain and Portugal are next in the list, at 9/1 and 14/1 respectively, followed by the Czech Republic at 16/1.

Football supporters with a more immediate view could well be interested in a spot of Premiership betting, with favourites Chelsea valued at 1/2, followed by Manchester United at 9/2, Liverpool on 5/1 and Arsenal on 6/1.

At the other end of the table new boys Watford are tipped to go straight back down at 1/2, followed by Sheffield United at 4/6 and Reading at 5/4.

Andriy Shevchenko has been fancied at 7/2 to become the league's top scorer in the coming season, while other selected options include Everton's Andy Johnson at 20/1 and new West Ham signing Carlton Cole at 50/1.

Jose Mourinho's Chelsea are valued at 4/1 to lift the Champions League trophy in 2007, behind favourites and holders Barcelona at 7/2.

So while it is undoubtedly a sad thing that the world's greatest sporting tournament is over, heads should not be hung and brows should not be furrowed for too long, as there are always new options on the horizon.
